Peter “Omar” Kovacik lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin with his wife Karla and their son, Yahya.

He began his Arabic studies at Qasid Institute in 2005. Since then, he has studied at SunniPath, Qibla, Toronto Shariah Program, Studio Arabiyyah, Sibawayh Center, private Darse Nizami lessons with Shaykh Syed Javed Ali Shah, Seeker's Guidance, Fayda Institute, Dar al-Rayyan, The Majlis Seminary, and other programs.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, certificates in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the Wisconsin ESL Institute, and a Master of Arts in Islamic Studies from The Islamic Seminary of America (TISA).

He teaches years one and two of Classical Arabic in the Imam al-Dardir Advanced Studies Program at The Majlis Seminary, via distance.
